Legal
Privacy Policy
The short version: borderframes.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party trackers or fonts. The only personal data we collect is your email address, and only if you join the waitlist and confirm it.
01Controller
The controller responsible for personal data on borderframes.com is the provider named in the Imprint: [Provider name, address]. Borderframes is a brand of TRAVLR. Questions and requests: [email protected]. We have not appointed a data protection officer; none is required for an operation of our size.
02Visiting this website
borderframes.com is a static website served by Cloudflare. To deliver a page, Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser’s user agent, and keeps short-lived logs for security (for example to block attacks). We do not combine this with anything else and do not use it to identify you.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in delivering the site securely.
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. The site stores nothing on your device. Fonts are your device’s own; images and code come from our own server.
03The waitlist
If you join the waitlist we store your email address, that you signed up on borderframes.com, your browser’s language setting (so we can write to you in your language), and when you signed up, when we sent the confirmation email and when you confirmed.
The waitlist uses double opt-in: right after you sign up we send one email with a confirmation link, and you are only on the list once you tap it. If you don’t, we send nothing else. Once confirmed, we use your address only to tell you when the new Borderframes and TRAVLR launch, and occasionally about that launch. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, your consent, given by confirming. You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us; this does not affect anything sent before.
- Retention: unconfirmed entries are deleted automatically 30 days after the confirmation email. Confirmed entries are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, and at most 12 months after the launch email.
04Emailing us
If you write to [email protected], we use your address and message to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it concerns an order or a request before one, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f), our interest in answering. We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless we must keep it by law (for example for tax reasons). Emails to this address are handled by Zoho Mail (Zoho Corporation), which stores the mailbox in its US data centre (see section 5).
05Processors
We use these service providers, each bound by a data processing agreement:
| Provider | Purpose | Location | Data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting and delivery of this website | Global edge network; US company | IP address, request details |
| Supabase, Inc. | Database for the waitlist | Germany (AWS Frankfurt); US company | Waitlist entries (section 3) |
| Resend, Inc. | Sending the confirmation and launch emails | Ireland (AWS eu-west-1) for sending; US company | Your email address and the email’s content |
| Zoho Corporation | The [email protected] inbox | USA | Your email address and the messages you send us |
Where a provider or its staff can access data from outside the EU/EEA, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Cloudflare and Resend are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Supabase and Zoho rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses in their data processing agreements.

07Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]; we answer within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work.
08Changes
If this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top. If you are on the waitlist and a change affects you materially, we will tell you by email.
